Description
Anjeer, commonly known as Fig, is a unique and highly nutritious fruit native to the Mediterranean and Western Asia. The Anjeer tree produces small, pear-shaped fruits with a sweet, honey-like taste and a soft, chewy texture filled with tiny seeds. The outer skin of the fruit can range from green to deep purple, depending on the variety. Rich in dietary fiber, calcium, iron, potassium, and antioxidants, Anjeer is known for its numerous health benefits, including aiding digestion and supporting heart health.
This plant thrives in warm, dry climates and well-drained soil. Anjeer trees are relatively low maintenance and can be grown in home gardens, making them ideal for cultivating both fruit and ornamental purposes. The fruits are harvested in the late summer to early fall.
